Welcome to Reception

Wow!  Can you believe the children have nearly been in school a whole term and what a term it has been.  We have been learning about, Ourselves, and how we are all very different but incredibly special.  We have explored our senses and painted portraits of ourselves, thought about people who help us in our school and the world around us and are this week talking about houses and homes.  We worked together to create an Andy Warhol style piece of artwork using our shapes on bright coloured pieces of paper and are going to be building our own homes using clay.

Next we, we will will be having our RE week and thinking about how we are all special.  We will talk about the, Creation story and Harvest time.  We are going to be performing a dance in our Harvest assembly at church and then we are going to walk to Age Concern to deliver our Harvest gifts and sing the residents some songs.  We love to sing and dance!

The children have been fantastic at settling into school and are well settled into their routines and roles in the classroom.  Great friendships have been made and all of the teachers have been overwhelmed at how supportive they are of each other and love to celebrate each others achievements.  Well done Reception!
