Mission Statement
As a Church of England Voluntary Aided school, we actively promote a Christian ethos that teaches us to love, share and celebrate together. Our Christian school ethos underpins and is central to the daily workings of our school. Our school does all that it can, for as many people as it can, where it can and for as long as it can
We aim to encourage children's spiritual and emotional development through the teaching of different faiths and the encounter of a meaningful experience of Christianity
RE is taught in every class from early years to year 6. Our aim is that children will gain a secure knowledge and understanding of Christianity and be introduced to some of our neighbours' religions and learn to respect people of different faiths. We believe RE should be taught through creative and practical activities and discussion. We encourage learning to take many forms for example through drama, dance and poetry. We benefit from RE visits and visitors to the lessons. We also throughout the year make frequent visit to local churches and the Cathedral to participate in a variety of service and activities.
Collective Worship
When we gather together we aim to enjoy ourselves and celebrate that enjoyment through songs and activities that confirm who we are and what we believe in. We really enjoy our collective worship time and invite parents to come and join us.
